A magnificent 18th century hand painted on silk French folding hand fan, decorated with silver sequins. Beautifully painted with a romantic scene of a cavalier courting a young lady. There is a signature to the left hand centre. In good condition, the silk where it is attached to the sticks has frayed, but is still attached. The finishing once top and bottom of the leaf is in silver ribbon.
